I first saw an Amiga when serving in Plymouth, my mate had one, and I was hooked so as soon as I could I got my own. It was an A500 (Cartoon Classics package, the one with Bart Simpson,Captain Planet etc) (seemed a lot in those days)

An offer of a cheap A1200 second hand and the death of my CD32 put me on the path to my present set up. So I sold my A500 setup (if fact the post office lost it on route and paid up the full value at lot more than I was selling it for) This gave my system a boost and a Blizzard 1230MkIV with 4 meg of Ram was soon in my A1200 plus a Squirrel and a CD Drive. (if fact the post office lost it on route and paid up the full value at lot more than I was selling it for) This gave my system a boost and a Blizzard 1230MkIV with 4 meg of Ram was soon in my A1200 plus a Squirrel and a CD Drive.

With the purchase of a bigger hard drive,an SCSI Zip drive and an FPU for my accelerator at World of Amiga 97 my system grew. The release of the Netconnect Package saw me connected to the internet for the first time and I have since progressed to a 56k/V90 modem and Netconnect V3. Finally I decided it was time to put it all in a tower I choose the EyeTech EZ Tower (glad I did as although the power tower is visually nicer the extra bays in my Tower have been most welcome). Having put it all in the tower and added an IDE Cdrom as well, I felt it was time for some more CPU power so I ordered a BlizPPC 603e/160/040/25 and a BVision card. 2 months later I got the PPC card and fitted it next came a scan doubler/flicker fixer and a new monitor and Hires Pal interlace screen modes improved my workbench no end. An LS120 drive allowed me to use 120meg disks an PC formatted Hi-density disk and was a cheaper option than a catweasel or Amiga Hi-density drive. Finally (after 10 months waiting) my BVision arrived and a 16 bit workbench 800x600 was the order of the day and goodbye to running out of Chipram. Along the way I have also added various extras my most recent a CDR Drive. My present set up is as follows

A1200 in Eyetech EZ-Tower
BlizPPC 603e/160mHZ/040/25mhz Accelerator
BVision Graphics Card
96 Meg fast Ram
3 Gig IDE Hard Drive
2.1 Gig IDE Hard drive
Silversurfer serial interface
4 way IDE buffered interface
Squirrel SCSI interface
SCSI CDRom
SCSI Zip Drive
IDE CDR Drive
LS 120 Drive
BMON BVision/AGA Switcher
Scan Doubler/Flickerfixer
15" Monitor
Speakers
56k/v90 Modem
Printer

This is also networked via the serial port (for doom death matches) and the parallel port using pronet to another A1200 with Bliz 1230MkIV FPU 16 meg Ram, Monitor, Surf Squirrel and SCSI CDRom.

I mainly use my Amiga for The Internet, games and anything else I can find an excuse for. My friends/workmates find it strange that I don't have a PC but when I tell them what I've upgraded to they realise its a bit different to the A500 they remember owning once. Once I get a free internet connection sorted out I think Online Quake will be first on my agenda.
